Hello and welcome! I am an Assistant Research Scientist in the Coastal Conservation & Restoration Lab at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. I recently received my Ph.D. from East Carolina University in 2023 where I was advised by Dr. Rachel Gittman.
My research interests are in marine and coastal ecology, specifically habitat use by fish communities and restoration of critical marine and estuarine ecosystems. For my dissertation I studied the role of habitat complexity in shaping seagrass faunal communities, focusing on communities in Back Sound, North Carolina. I also investigated how seagrass restoration across a depth gradient influences faunal community assembly and restoration success. You can read more about my dissertation work by clicking on the Research page above. I graduated from the College of William and Mary in Virginia in 2016 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Marine Science. While at William and Mary I worked in Dr. Jon Allen's marine invertebrate lab studying the effects of embryo size and food supply on the development of asteroid echinoderms. After graduating I interned at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, with the Guppy Project in Trinidad and Tobago, and at the Mote Marine Lab. |
